The theme for Day #4 is to wear your hair curly or crimpy. I opted for curly because I really like rag-rolling my hair. My hair is kind of funny. It won't hold curls from a curling iron, but when I take the rags out of my hair in the morning, it stays curled up just as tight as when they were still in!
So then I have to go through and work them each a little bit looser. I used to just leave them like they look in the picture above, but when I got to be about 12, I decided that I was too old to look like Shirley Temple any more. By the end of the day, I'd pinned them up into a messy bun/waterfall type thing because they kept getting caught in costumes as I helped kids change into and out of their costumes at the practice(s) for our church pageant next week.
What I'm wearing: Black dress shoes American Eagle - gift; Black skirt (you can't see from the pictures, but it is covered in little red berries and flowers that match the shirt) thrifted; Wine/Burgundy zip-front blouse thrifted; black turtle neck thrifted; red hat gift from my Grandmum.
This is one of my favorite hats, it's a wine/burgundy felt with a little "belt" around the brim and an ostrich feather plume on the back. My Grandmum wore it when she was a little older than me, but decided a few years ago that she wasn't going to wear it any more, so she gave it to me! Daddy says I look like one of Robin Hood's Merry Men in it. :)
I love your hat!!! :)
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteI saw your profile on one of my friends blogs and saw that your name was Laurel. That is my name too. So I HAD to check out your blog.
My hair is that way with curling too. It won't stay curled from a hot iron unless I use a TON of hairspray. Well, my hair is below my elbows in length so it is to long and heavy to curl now.
