So today is day three of Natasha's 12 Days of Modest Fashion.
Sorry for the horrible pictures. No one was free to take them for me, and our good camera is in for repairs. Hopefully they're done with it in time for Christmas! These were taken on an ipod, so they're pretty grainy.
My Daddy got me this shirt and it's one of my favorites. You can't really read it because of the grainy-ness, but it says "I'm not short. I'm fun sized." At 5'2", I'm not excessively short, but with two brothers and a father over 6 feet, and the rest of the family close to that, I'm considered to be pretty short. I'm taller than my 5 year old and 9 year old sisters, and my 11 year old brother is the same height as me, everyone else is at least 4 inches taller than me. The other week my 9 year old sister came upstairs wearing the clothes I had ironed for myself to wear to church. The little rascal didn't like the ones that had been set out for her and thought mine were cuter! Oh, the joys of being short.
The theme for today was wear a hat. Usually that would be no problem because I wear hats all the time. But today I took the youngest three siblings rock climbing, and you can't wear a hat rock climbing! So the hat was really just for the pictures. Does that count?
What I'm wearing: John Deere cowboy hat (grad gift from my Daddy); purple t-shirt (gift from Daddy :); long blue tank (thrifted); black colouttes (made by me); black leggings (?); white knee sock ($ store); black Taxi shoes (thrifted).
This necklace originally came with just the cross on it. I was looking for a chain to hang my key on and I slipped it onto this chain, just to see if it was the right length. I thought it looked so cute with the cross on, I just left them both there. The key is just the right size for a necklace pendant, and it is very unique. And a great conversation starter!
*Example conversation* "That's an interesting necklace. Is that the key to your heart?" (If it was, would I wear it out in plain sight to start awkward conversations? No! "No, it's the key to my gun." "oh." (Imagine a very 'bewildered, confused, not sure if they should be scared, or even believe me' look on their face!)
And, in case you're wondering, it really is the key to a gun. Technically, the gun is registered in Daddy's name, but I'm pretty sure I've shot it more than he has!
Well, I have to get going, we need to practice for a Christmas concert we're giving on the 18th. And another one on the 30th. Time for some quality time with my cello!

What a cute shirt! I should get one. I'm pretty short myself!!
ReplyDeleteI want a shirt like that. I'm only 5'1. :) And you are hilarious. The thing about the key to your gun made me crack up!
ReplyDeleteLol! I'm just a little behind you at 5'1''! I have an awesome shirt for short people! It says 'I'm more fun per-square foot than you are!' I love it!
