12 Days of Modest Fashion - Day 5

So yesterday was "anything goes" day at Natasha's Modest Fashion Days.  "Anything", for me anyways, included a flu thanks to my little sister.  If I posted what I wore for most of the day, it would looks suspiciously like pajamas, and if I posted what I looked like for most of the day, I would look suspiciously like a bump on a log.  When I finally got up and dressed at 2:30, this is what I wore.  Compliments for the photos go to the same little sister from whom I got the flu.
Sorry for the blurry-ness, she's only five.  I'm wearing: white three-quarter length shirt thrifted, navy blue t-shirt with silk flowers Joe Fresh (Super Store Brand), brown and red and blue and green plaid skirt made by me.
I was waiting for the fabric for my little sister's Christmas dresses (shh, don't tell) to come out of the dryer the other day.  I thought I'd already dried the fabric, so I'd set aside three hours to work on the dresses and found out the fabric was still in the washer.  So sitting there wondering what to do for the next forty minutes until the dryer was done, I figured I should probably work on some of my "to sew when I have time" projects.  I got the fabric at the thrift store a while ago, but I wasn't sure what to do with it.  I was inspired by Olivia's skirt here, but didn't have the right pattern.  I kind of just fudged it and made it up as I went.  The back of the waistband didn't turn out very well, but overall, I really like it.  It's super comfortable, and extra long.  I can wear it with heels and still have it touch the ground!
This is a close-up of the silk flowers on my t-shirt.  This is the second most expensive shirt I've ever bought, but I was seeing these cute shirts with flowers on the neckline everywhere, and really wanted one.  I rarely indulge that much, but I'm pretty glad I did as it's become one of my favorite t-shirts.

I just had to add this picture.  I came down to my room (which I share with my sister Sarah - the one who took my pictures), to get ready for bed the other night only to find Sarah still up and, to all appearances deeply engrossed in New Testament Survey.  I knew she was a bright kid, but university level theology is a little more than I expected of her!
It took a minute to realize that she was just using it as a hard surface to draw on!
