...And we went for a family walk. The sun is shining and our lake should be melting some time in the next month or two. Our snow may even be gone before May! : D I love spring!
It's amazing to me how you can lie without telling an un-truth.
;P While all of that is true, these pictures are from a family walk we went on if February. Our lake is still frozen over, but the ice is rotting and not safe to walk on - It should be all cleared up probably some time early-mid May. And our snow might be all gone before May - next week is before May, isn't it? And I do love spring.
Our lake has been doing the weirdest things this winter. It's called ice-jacking. We've never seen it before in the 16 years we've lived on this lake, but apparently it's quite common farther south. I could give you a long, convoluted explanation, but frankly, I don't truly understand it myself. The ice "jacked" up in vertical walls up to 8 feet high all the way around the lake. We had to chop a pathway through the wall just to go skating. At one point, the ice "jacked" in a line right across the middle of the lake resulting both in this super cool cave and in a pool of water that came up through the crack. A pool of water which my *ahem* *cough cough* um, we'll just go with "adjective". A pool of water which my "adjective" brothers decided to go swimming in. In December. I'm sure I'm not related to them! They just followed us home one day - they must have!
Well, I just wanted to show you a little of the cool art that God did on our lake this winter.
In His grace,
Laurel
P.S. That "adjective" about my brothers was not a bad adjective. It's just that I'd have to do twenty push-ups for calling them words like: irresponsible, stupid, or brainless. You can die that way!
